Tobacco use policy updated on base Published April 27, 2018 By Airman 1st Class Melody Wolff 319th Air Base Wing, Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Effective April 24, 2018, tobacco users must comply with updated guidance while on Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.This policy is effective for anyone on the installation and includes, but is not limited to, all tobacco products include chewing tobacco, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars and pipes.The policy states the following:- Tobacco use is restricted from all dormitory areas including the adjoining parking lots and associated walkways.- Tobacco use has been restricted to use only in designated tobacco areas. Those who are not familiar with these areas should seek assistance from their supervision.- The use of tobacco is prohibited in all Air Force Services facilities and recreational facilities.- The sale of tobacco products and special events promoting tobacco use are prohibited in all Air Force Services facilities.Additionally, the 319th Medical Group building and parking lot are also tobacco free locations.For those looking to quit the use of tobacco products, the next tobacco cessation class begins May 24.
