Grand Forks city church added to list for possible Hepatitis A exposure

The North Dakota Department of Health has issued a notification for people who took communion while attending St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks city, N.D on Sept. 29, 2013.

Those who attended the church and took communion at the 10:30 a.m. mass that day may possibly have been exposed to hepatitis A. Again, this notification only includes people who attended and took communion at the 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2013.

Symptoms of hepatitis A include nausea, abdominal discomfort, fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, dark urine, pale or grey-colored stools, and/or jaundice (yellow discoloration of eyes and/or skin). Symptoms may not appear until two weeks to two months after exposure.

If you received 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Michael's on Sept. 29, 2013, you are encouraged to contact your care manager if you develop symptoms or if you have any concerns.
