The 319th Communications Squadron will be performing a major upgrade to the base telephone switch. In order for this to occur, the base telephone switch will be shut down for approximately nine hours beginning November 23 at 9 p.m. Saturday night and lasting until 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

There will be NO primary base 747-XXXX telephone services available during this period.

This outage will only affect 747-XXXX numbers (to include voicemail) and on-base hotlines maintained by the 319 Communications Squadron that run through the telephone switching system. Primary and secondary crash lines will not be affected. All on base, 594-XXXX (e.g. base housing, AAFES/Services/NAF), and direct off-base connections, Advantor alarms, to include cell phones, etc., will not be affected.

The 319th CS has coordinated with first responders and they will utilize alternate means of voice communications to ensure emergency response services (i.e. 911) remain available during the temporary outage. Cell phone numbers for BDOC and Fire Control will be used until service to our main telephone switch has been restored.
