The 372nd Training Squadron based out of Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., visited the Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minn., to compare the similarities and differences in technology and teaching methods Dec. 18, 2013.

"I truly wanted to get a first-hand account of Northland Community & Technical College's teaching methods with UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems), and what better way to do it than to go there and see it in person," said Master Sgt. Donald King, 372nd Training Squadron detachment chief.

Curtis Zoller, associate dean of aerospace programs at NC&TC said he wants to find ways to "synergize the teaching methods and equipment used" in both the teaching programs at the college and at the 372nd TRS.

"The transfer from military to civilian UAS systems here is simple and that's why I think it's important for us to make sure we help out wherever we can with the training squadron and assisting their students," said Zoller.

King attended the tour with the sole purpose of improvement in mind, such as teaching methods or ideas for future equipment needs.

"This tour was great for the people in the training squadron, it truly helped us see something up close that we have only read about," said King. "We can now speak better to our Airmen currently serving with an understanding of multiple teaching methods."
