DANTES will no longer fund re-testing of CLEP, DSST and ECE Exams Published May 25, 2010 Base Education and Training Center Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. -- Due to budget constraints, Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Services (DANTES) will no longer fund re-testing of College Level Examination Program, DANTES Subject Standardized Test and Early Childhood Education exams. This means as a member, if you would like to re-test a CLEP, DSST or ECE, you will have to pay (personally fund) to re-test that exam and follow the personally funded procedures. At the Grand Forks Air Force Base testing center, personally funded (also known as unfunded) tests must be paid for by a certified check or money order payable to Prometric prior to testing; however, check with each test site, such as University of North Dakota, to determine the form of payment required. Below is a current costs reference: DSST at Grand Forks AFB $71 CLEP at Grand Forks AFB $120 ($122 July 1) ECE at Grand Forks AFB (cost varies $240-$345) DSST at UND $80 plus $15 sitting fee CLEP at UND $72 plus $15 sitting fee ($77 July 1) Personally funded test scores are not automatically sent to Community College of the Air Force as with funded tests, so designate the institution code. Ordering transcripts also vary. For funded CLEP, DSST and ECE test, use Military Transcript Order Form for $30 Only unfunded tests will appear on the respective CLEP and DSST transcript order forms. For unfunded CLEP's use CLEP Transcript Order Form, $20 For unfunded DSST's use DSST Transcript Order Form, $30 Testers are still required to wait 180 days to re-test both funded and unfunded tests.
