GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 319th Air Base Wing appointed a new inspector general in November.
Lt. Col. Brian Mahoney, 319th ABW chief of safety, was named to the position.
The IG office at Grand Forks was vacant for more than six months, and IG business was conducted by the Air Mobility Command.
"If any complaints come my way, I will work them as required and will be available to whoever needs it," Mahoney said. "It is a big step for the wing so people know that someone will be both readily available and impartial to any issues they might have."
The IG independently assesses the readiness, discipline, and efficiency of the 319th ABW, and is responsible to the wing commander for the wing inspection policy; Investigation and Complaints program; Fraud, Waste and Abuse program; and High-Level Inquiries.
The IG office can be reached at 701-747-4444.
