Grand Forks AFB Main Gate reopens following renovation project Published Aug. 2, 2012 By Staff Sgt. David Dobrydney 319th Air Base Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Main Gate reopened here Aug. 2 a following a nearly two-month renovation project. Base personnel must begin using the Main Gate to enter and exit the base. The South Gate, located next to Highway 2, will revert to admitting commercial and delivery vehicles only as of 1 p.m. Aug. 3. The South Gate will close at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 and will resume normal operating hours of 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning Aug. 6. During normal operating hours, personnel will be able to exit through the South Gate. The Visitor Control Center will maintain normal hours of operation, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
