Deer Archery Hunting Permits Available for Grand Forks Air Force Base Published Aug. 22, 2012 GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 319th Civil Engineer Squadron is now issuing lottery applications for the 2012-2013 deer archery season, which opens at noon Aug. 31 and closes Jan 6, 2013. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 27 or until all permits available are issued. A base permit lottery will be conducted Aug. 28. Permit cost is a onetime fee of $10 cash. Subsequent lotteries will be held monthly for hunting privileges in 38 designated areas, 12 of which will open upon heavy snowfall. A copy of a North Dakota hunting license is required at the time of application submittal. Lottery permits to hunt on base will not be issued without this information. Eligible hunters include active-duty military, Department of Defense civilian employees, retirees, and family members. Those interested may pick up applications in the Natural Resources Office at Bldg. 410, Room 153 during business hours or download the hunting application from the eDASH website. Additionally, the 319th Air Base Wing Safety Office is hosting bow hunting safety courses August 23 and 27 at 9 a.m. in Bldg. 541. Attendence is mandatory in order to hunt on base.
