The 319th Air Base Wing Airman's Activity Council (AAC) is welcoming the arrival of spring by hosting an Armageddon Paintball War on May 3 from 1-6 p.m. in the area across from the base's main gate.

For $10, the AAC will provide paintball guns, ammunition, and a barbecue lunch to Airmen in the pay grades E-1 through E-4. The AAC will provide safety equipment for up to 18 people; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

Airman 1st Class Grant Gleason, AAC vice president, along with other council members, came up with the idea of the Armageddon Paintball War during the April council meeting.

"We really wanted Airmen to get out of the dorms after being cooped up all winter and have a great time while being able to support our council," said Gleason.

Senior Airman Eric Quinones, 319th Civil Engineer Squadron, hopes to attend the event on May 3.

"The AAC holds a lot of great events, and this is just the latest one," he said. "I'm excited we are doing an event with paintball, and hope we continue doing these kinds of events to give junior enlisted Airmen something to do outside of work."

Gleason said he has high hopes for the paintball war.

"If this event is as successful as we hope it will be, the AAC plans on hosting more events like this in the future," said Gleason. "We're all really excited to get Airmen interested in AAC with this paintball war. "This event is just one way to encourage more involvement amongst our junior enlisted members."
