The base received notification of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the region.  In anticipation of possible spread, base leadership has directed raising our Health Protection Condition from zero to A.  At this time, there are no confirmed cases of the disease on Grand Forks Air Force Base, but leadership teams are already proactive in accomplishing Force Health Protection Condition Alpha measures out of an abundance of caution.  These are risk-based measures consistent with guidance from the Department of Defense and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and we will continue to work closely with our state and regional/local health officials to ensure our detection and response efforts are coordinated.

While the actions taken by the installation may be more aggressive than the local community, it is based on the requirement for mission assurance, not based on information not provided to the public. Leadership communicates daily with our counterparts downtown, this partnership will be key.

Please continue to follow Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, because we need to preserve the ability of our servicemen and women to provide national defense and current worldwide military missions.
