Colonel SARAH E. STRANSKE

Col Stranske is the Commander, 319th Medical Group, Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.  She is responsible for daily outpatient clinic operations, an ambulance service providing final response and transport, and medical readiness of all base supported personnel. Colonel Stranske leads 180 medics serving 4.7 thousand enrollees with an operating budget of $6 million. The group supports the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance wing including those operating the Global Hawk, maintaining the High Frequency Global Communications System, and several geographically separated units in the two-state, one-province region.

Col Stranske was born and raised in California, and directly commissioned into the Air Force in 2000.  She holds a Master of Science in Pediatric Nursing from California State Long Beach, and is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  She has served in progressively challenging roles and settings including inpatient and outpatient nursing.  She also worked as an Executive Officer for SG1 at the Defense Health Headquarters, in Falls Church, Virginia.  Prior to this assignment Col Stranske served as a master clinician and the Director of Staff for the 316th Medical Group in Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland.
