Grand Forks AFB to host first military Financial Readiness Road show

Grand Forks Air Force Base commander Col. John Michel, will host the first Military Financial Readiness Road Show Jan. 29 in the Northern Lights Club here. This event is co-sponsored by the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy. Together, they are bringing resources to assist military personnel and their families throughout the local area deal with the impacts of today's economy.

These events are designed to help military personnel and their families gather information from subject matter experts in such areas as budgets and spending plans, credit management, savings and investments, identity theft, and estate and retirement planning.

The event will feature keynote speaker Larry Winget and others who provide motivational talks about guarding against identity theft and information regarding plans for a higher credit score. Breakout sessions by seasoned financial experts will provide vital information on "Stretching My Money in a Tight Economy;" "Riding Out the Storm - Investing in a Turbulent Market;" "Dream Big - Plan Now! Make Your Ideal Retirement a Reality;" "Money Management for a Successful PCS Move;" and "Financial Preparedness - Safeguard Your Assets and Protect Your Family."

All event workshops services will be provided at no cost to military personnel and their families attending this event. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
