Enhanced Use Lease signing at Grand Forks Air Force Base Published Feb. 11, 2015 By 010215 GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 319th Air Base Wing will host an event commemorating the signing of the Grand Forks AFB Enhanced Use Lease beginning at 10:00 a.m. February 18, 2015, in the Three-Bay Hangar on base. The enhanced use lease real estate deal allows the county to develop the property into an unmanned aerial system business park for aircraft testing, training, and research. The lease is expected to earn the base more than $40 million over-the-course of the 50-year lease; an additional revenue stream that will help fund infrastructure needs. The event will last approximately 90 minutes and will consist of speeches from Air Force, county and state officials. A press conference will follow, allowing media representatives to ask questions of a few key members. Media attending the event will be met at the main gate by an escort from 319th ABW Public Affairs at 9:30 a.m. All media members will have to park in the visitor lot and go into the gate building to receive a base pass for their vehicles. Separate media parking will available outside of the hangar. Unfortunately, manning levels cannot support the use of broadcast trucks at this event.
