Airman identified as alleged perpetrator in local shooting incident

Senior Airman Marcell T. Willis, an active-duty service member stationed here, was identified by the Grand Forks Police Department as the alleged gunman in a shooting incident at a Wal-Mart in the city of Grand Forks May 26, 2015.

"The Airmen of Grand Forks Air Force Base are deeply saddened by this event and we extend our sincere condolences to the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this tragedy," said Col. Paul Bauman, 319th Air Base Wing commander. "We are very proud of our close relationship with the Grand Forks community and are fully cooperating with local authorities and agencies."

Grand Forks AFB was Willis' first duty station and had been stationed here since Feb, 2013. His primary duty was supply.
