Showing the Light

Brig. Gen. (Dr.) Kory Cornum, Air Mobility Command Surgeon, asks questions concerning the number of Airmen allowed to check out light boxes for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) on Feb. 19, 2015 at the Mental Health Clinic on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. SAD is a type of depression that can occur during the fall and winter months. The light boxes mimic outdoor light and causes a chemical change in the brain that eases the symptoms of SAD.
