Blood donors, volunteers needed for upcoming blood drive

The 319th Air Refueling Wing is holding a blood drive Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Prairie Rose Chapel on Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. All Airmen, dependents and civilians are encouraged to participate. According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds. Only around 5 percent of the eligible United States population donates blood in any given year. Healthy donors are the only source of blood. Interested donors may walk-in or call Airman 1st Class Michael Roy at (701) 747-6857 to schedule an appointment. In addition to donors, Airman Roy is looking for volunteers to help with set-up, break-down and to work the reception desk. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman R. Michael Longoria)
