Heritage to Horizons; Grand Forks style

This year's Air Force Ball is scheduled for Sept. 7 at the Betty Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. The social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

In honor of the Air Force's 60th anniversary, this year's theme is "Heritage to Horizons." The theme recognizes the Air Force's history, as well as looks ahead to our future.

No guest speaker is scheduled this year; instead, the masters of ceremony will sprinkle the evening with historical information.

The dress is mess dress or semi-formal uniform for military members and formal attire for civilians and guests.

Dinner options include a six-ounce sirloin, chicken meissner or portabella Neapolitan, all served with sides. Hors d'oeuvres will be served during social hour.

The ticket prices are broken down by rank or civilian equivalent and are as follows:
Airman (airman basic, airman, airman first class and senior airman) - $20
NCO (staff and technical sergeant) - $30
Senior NCO and company grade officers (master, senior master and chief master sergeants, second and first lieutenants and captains) - $40
Field grade officers and distinguished visitors (majors, lieutenant colonels, colonels) - $50.

Childcare for infants, toddlers and children will be available for a fee. Parents of infants through 5-year-olds, contact the child development center at 747-3042 for additional information and requirements. The youth center will hold a lock-in for youths ages 6 to 18.
