Meningococcal meningitis update Published Oct. 26, 2019 By 319th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs 319th Reconnaissance Wing Public Affairs GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- You may have heard that a Grand Forks AFB family member was recently diagnosed with a presumptive case of meningitis. State public health authorities have confirmed that this illness was not caused by the same bacteria involved in a meningitis case here last month. These are unfortunate but unrelated medical occurrences, and after careful assessment, medical authorities have confidence there is no elevated risk in our local population.
