Although the Leader newspaper is no longer available in a hard copy format, almost everything that was in the Leader can be found on the base' s public Web site: http://public.grandforks.amc.af.mil/

The Web site's "Inside the Gate" section is updated daily with events on base, news briefs, star performers and other base tidbits. People who relied on the former daily administrative e-mails for information are encouraged to regularly check the "Inside the Gate" section. You may need to click the internet' s "refresh" button to make sure your computer's downloading the most recent information.

Classified ads are still available for base personnel in The Glitz newspaper, a free publication distributed at about 20 locations on base including the Base Exchange and commissary. The Glitz also includes local advertisements, community activities and entertainment news. To place an advertisement in The Glitz, call 780-1275.

Where does the new Leader Online fit into all of this? The Leader Online is a tool to draw people to the base' s public Web site. Once viewers get to the public website, they have access to a wealth of news stories, feature articles, commentaries and "Inside the Gate" information.

The Web site has increased in readership since the Leader Online began, with more than 3,000 hits on Thursdays and Fridays (when the Leader Online is sent out).

Complete information is still available; it's just delivered in a new manner. For questions or comments about the public Web site or Leader Online, contact the Public Affairs staff at 747-5023.
