Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
I feel a sense of accomplishment every time I put on the uniform, whether I am fixing someone's computer or helping out an Airman in need. I am a client system technician, so we ensure computer hardware and software on base is up and running. I love knowing my work is for a greater cause.

What moment or accomplishment as a Warrior of the North are you most proud of and why?
The moment as a Warrior of the North I am most proud of was getting coined by Maj. Gen. Fredrick Martin, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center commander.  The second Core Value of the Air Force is Service Before Self, which means an Airman's professional duties always take precedence over personal desires. I put my service first before myself as I was assisting a fellow Airman who was having life-threatening issues.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is learning by receiving random questions and problems that deal with computers. Every day I learn something new, I am building more and more interest in this career field. I also get to meet new people almost every day due to the fact that everyone comes through us who has computer problems. All in all, I like knowing my team and I work hard to get tasks done in a short amount of time.

Who inspires you and why?
One person who inspires me is my grandfather, Merlin. He was an Army veteran who fought on the front lines in Germany during WWII. He is a perfect example of working hard and playing hard. He's an 88-year-old man who still takes me out shooting rifles.  I have always looked up to him, trying to be like him in every way.  He's taught me everything I know.

What's the first thing that made you think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather?
The first thing that made me think Grand Forks Air Force Base was a cool place other than the temperature or weather is that it's close to home, so I get to see my friends and family. Second, Grand Forks has my two favorite hobbies: hockey, and hunting waterfowl.
