The 319th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight is scheduled to offer free personal vehicle inspections here from 8 a.m. to noon on September 26, 2015.

The inspections will take place in the parking lot behind the fitness center here and will be open to anyone with base access. The goal of the inspections will be to ensure that vehicles and their owners are prepared for winter, said Staff Sgt. Clarence A. Campbell Jr., 319th LRS refueling maintenance NCO-in-charge.

"The winter here can be very brutal and it is imperative to check the little things that can down your car in the blink of an eye," said Campbell. "It's better to be proactive than reactive."

The winterization inspection will cover items such as brakes, engine belts, battery terminals, fluids, lights and tires among several other items. There will also be information available that informs Airmen how to construct a proper winter safety kit.

Campbell said this service is a great opportunity.

"This free service is great for the Grand Forks AFB community because our interests are family driven," said Campbell. "We are a family and the 319th LRS would like to make sure everyone has a safe winter."
